Instructional Systems Design (ISD),  is a process that allows you to optimize the creation of a learning solution. Most ISD processes are based upon the ADDIE model that consists of 5 phases:

1.Analysis: Investigate if a Learning Solution can resolve the performance gap of the target audience and meet the requested business objectives. Performance gaps due to a lack of cognition, attitude or skill can be addressed by a Learning Solution.

2.Design: Set out the proper performance and learning objectives that would resolve the performance gap. These objectives need to be in line with the business requirements. Create the main structure and sequence for the learning events while taking in consideration andragogically theories.

3.Development: Create the assets for the Learning Solution, following the blueprint that was created during the design phase. This includes design of storyboards and graphics, as well as integration of any eLearning technologies.

4.Implementation: Deliver the learning solution to the target audience, adjusted to different learning styles for each generation.

5.Evaluation: Verify every step of the process from context to product making sure the performance gap is closed, by measuring in the end  the performance objectives.

Scrum & Chunk for learning Development

Each chunk should have precise & meaningful objectives, be varied, and assessed.

Chucks can be distributed using  Subscription Learning, with spaced repetition to enhance retention. Or using a learning campaign where learners can create their own learning path that leads to mastery.

Micro learning is more then chunking as every micro learning should be standalone = Short (3-7 minutes) + Focused + Multi-Platform
