New captivate won’t save?

I’ve installed the new captivate, but have not yet been able to save a file. I just get the circle that stays there, and i cannot click anything else and have to quit the programme completely.

Does anyone have any advice please?

I am currently experiencing this same issue. I was able to successfully save about 2 weeks ago, but now I just get a spinning wheel when I try to save or save as on a project. As far as I know, I haven’t made any significant changes to my device/Captivate settings.

  • I’m working on a Mac and already verified my default location for my project cache and publish at locations haven’t changed.
  • I also disabled iCloud
  • I verified I’m on the latest version of Captivate: 12.6
  • Tried restarting my device as well

Refer to the below link and install CP 13.0 the latest release and then check:

Wondering if this was ever resolved, because I currently have the same issue with version 12.4. I cannot save a project, I just get the spinning wheel after hitting save.

Hi Charles,

Is your system synced with iCLoud or OneDrive? If yes then please disable it and try again. Also make sure that the default location of project cache and Publish At under preferences is not sync with icloud/Onedrive.

Hi There,

Can you confirm if your system is synced with iCLoud or OneDrive? If yes then please disable it and try again.

I am also having this issue. I can confirm mine is installed on the system (mac) and not a drive. I’ve tried to save in a bunch of different places (google drive & system folders) but all get the same result – the never ending circle.

Did you install Captivate on your system, not on a networked drive?

Did you change the paths in the Preferences? If you are on Windows, make sure not to have those paths synchronized with Onedrive.

Be sure to install the most recent version, which is 12.3.
