I’ve been an eLearning designer and developer since 2005, specializing in the creation of interactive and engaging learning experiences. In 2015, I launched my own eLearning design business and began producing Adobe Captivate video tutorials on my YouTube channel, CaptivateTeacher, to support clients and fellow developers. This content not only helped me grow my business globally—it also introduced me to a wider community of aspiring Captivate users who now turn to me for training and mentorship. Today, I provide both online and onsite Adobe Captivate training, empowering others to build effective eLearning with confidence. I’m proud to be part of the Adobe eLearning Community, sharing knowledge, collaborating with other developers, and contributing to the growth of this platform.

We were both recognized by Adobe as Adobe Community Experts, another group managed by Adobe that rewards and incentivizes Adobe software experts to participate in various other communities, such as this one. She and I did not always agree on what it meant to be an expert. She was very vocal that she didn’t think video tutorials were an effective way to teach software.

One difference between us was that she attempted to answer just about every question in these discussions, even if to say that she didn’t have an answer. I believe not to comment on people’s questions unless I have something to contribute and can point you in the right direction. Many of the questions on this forum are technical, and there is little Lieve, or I could do to assist. I believe a user forum is not where you should ask these questions. When the software isn’t behaving as expected, contact Adobe for technical support. After all, part of the $34 per month goes to supporting the software. Your best bet is to email captivatehelp@adobe.com explaining the issues you are experiencing.

Lieve’s lack of presence in the Adobe eLearning Community will be significantly noticed, and I suspect it will change these forums—perhaps it already has.

Lily was THE pillar of the Captivate Forum, my personal mentor, as the adviser of all the members… So of course the Captivate Forum will change. As for the departure of Stagprime (“The king of Javascript”), the release of the New Version will also have consequences…

Let’s hope that Rod and you, Paul, will continue the work of “The Queen of Advanced Actions” !

Rest in Peace Lily…

Well said. Lieve always brought more than just her knowledge of eLearning and Adobe Captivate. I hope the feeling of community surrounding Adobe Captivate can survive without her.

The readjustment to New Captivate and Pooja’s departure already strained my attachment to Captivate. Switching to another product increasingly looks like it would be as easy as staying with Captivate. If it weren’t for my faith in Shambu and my company’s Adobe Enterprise agreement, I would have likely given up on it already.
