Exporting images / Printing projects – New Captivate
June 16, 2026

In New Captivate, I am having 2 issues:

1. Exporting Images: I can export/download images that are a part of the slide background, but if another image has been added on top of that, I do not have the same ability to export/download the image file. Is there some way to export these additional image files that I am missing? Or a library of user-added assets?

2. Print Images/Captions: In Captivate 2019, we used to be able to print a word doc storyboard (slide images & captions) to share with SMEs for iterative review and edits. Is there a comparable way to do this in New Captivate? I have been able to export a table of captions but not slide images & captions together, or even slide images separately into a word doc.

Hi libbyl58658562,

Thank you for your query.

  1. Exporting Images: If I understand your question correctly, you’re referring to images that have been imported/added as separate objects on a slide rather than the slide background.

Currently, the option to export/download images is available only for slide background images created while recording a software simulation, and not for images that have been imported and added as separate objects to a project.

As a workaround, you may consider saving the Captivate project file (.cpt) with a .zip extension, extracting its contents, and then navigating to the uncompressed_data folder. The imported image assets used in the project are typically available in this folder and can be retrieved from there.

  2. Printing Images and Captions: The storyboard-style Microsoft Word output available in Adobe Captivate Classic is not available in the new Adobe Captivate. Instead, you can use the Share for Review feature to collaborate with reviewers and SMEs. This allows them to review the project, add comments, and provide feedback directly within the review workflow.

You can find more information here: https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/help/share-for-review.html.

We hope this information addresses your query. You may also contact the technical support team directly via phone (+1-800-833-6687) or chat (https://www.adobe.com/getsupport
